Beware of ANY E-mails that Request
Your Personal Information!
Identity theft and the use of E-mail to fraudulently ascertain unwary consumers’ personal information is increasing daily, and we want you to be aware and protect yourself. DO NOT respond to any E-mail that requests your personal information such as social security numbers, account numbers, credit card or debit card numbers, and corresponding usernames, passwords, and personal identification numbers (PINs), even if it appears that the message came from a company that you typically conduct business with. If you receive an E-mail that requests your information, do not click on a link within the message or use phone numbers that are contained in the message. Instead, contact the company yourself and report the suspicious E-mail. We recommend that you also send the E-mail to one of the agencies listed below so it can be tracked. Be assured, RiverLand Credit Union will never request any vital information from you through E-mail and no other legitimate company will either.
You may report suspicious E-mails to the following addresses:
reportphishing@antiphishing.org spam@uce.gov uce@ftc.gov
